Review: Glace Artisan Ice Cream

by

If you're looking for an old-fashioned banana split and a juke box - this is not your place. If you're looking for one-of-a-kind decadence showcasing a dozen flavors you've never heard of, but upon reading their names find yourself thinking, "They read my mind - what a fabulous concoction!" - then Glace Artisan Ice Cream is for you! The chic shop with a sleek modern atmosphere and robin's egg blue walls beckons customers to sample exotic and unheard-of-before ice cream flavors.... making the greatest challenge to be narrowing down your choice.

On a recent Mother Daughter Date with my five-year-old, I treated her to ice cream at Glace (followed by window shopping at Charming Charlie's and stocking up on some groceries at Trader Joe's - her fave grocery trip, especially when she finds the Hippo!). She loved it SO MUCH we returned a week later with her sister!

So, about that key word Artisan - what makes Glace Artisan Ice Cream? Glace uses only pure, fresh foods and natural ingredients to create their delicious flavors - no artificial flavorings. Locally owned and operated, this Christopher Elbow ice cream shop frequently invents NEW flavors and shares their creation journey on the Glace Facebook Page where fans are tempted with new tantalizing ice creams. And, with Christopher Elbow chocolates as signature ingredients for many of the flavors - you simply can't go wrong!

Perusing the flavors....  Lavender Lemon, Salted Pretzel, Strawberry Balsamic, Christopher Elbow Spiced Chocolate... to name a few, we requested a few samples and narrowed down our selection. The Fleur De Sel Caramel won me over, with my daughter choosing Blood Orange Sorbet. The ice cream is soft, creamy, and flavorful. The shop itself is slim, sleek, and sunny with bright windows - but the ambience was so simple - we opted to eat outside at a bench on the sidewalk and visit. It was a great treat and my daughter is already begging to go back!
