MESSY MONDAYS

by

Have you ever watched a comedy show for a few much-needed laughs, only to find that the humor is dull, inappropriate, dumb, or consisting mostly of potty-humor?  Have you ever wished that there was a wholesome, genuinely hilarious show out there that could really make you laugh, and make you think at the same time?  Well, now there is!  Just check out the popular YouTube channel, Messy Mondays (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL84299E25C73D08DE).

ABOUT THE SHOW

Brought to you by Blimey Cow and sponsored by Audible, Messy Mondays takes sarcasm to a whole new level.  Each Monday, Blimey Cow posts a new video (usually around five minutes long) with an original, entertaining topic.

Messy Mondays will delight all audiences, but it is best for teenagers and adults.  Each episode gives you advice and/or a lesson to muse over, along with several witty skits.  This hilarious show nearly always lies on sarcasm to get its point across, but there are many other types of jokes as well.

This show views life from a refreshing new perspective.  It is Christian-based, and non-Christians adore the show just as much!

Currently five Messy Mondays videos have over one million views, and on March 10th, their video Eight Awkward Situations (and How to Deal with Them) became the 15th most popular video on Youtube.  They have over a quarter of a million subscribers.

THE PEOPLE

Twenty-two-year-old Christian and former homeschooler, Jordan Taylor, is the host of Messy Mondays, and his older brother, Josh Taylor, is the main scriptwriter and editor.  Josh's wife, Kelli Taylor, and his sister, Amy Taylor, along with several friends, serve as actors in the episodes.

Jordan and Josh began making short films in 2005 after their father showed them how to shoot videos and create special effects, demonstrating that frightening movie violence was fake.  The brothers started posting their videos on YouTube, naming their network "Blimey Cow".

After making many videos, Blimey Cow created a show called Jordan's Messyges (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL33CBE35F33A677A0).  Later, they created Messy Mondays, which, after the viral breakthrough of the video Seven Lies About Homeschoolers, became their most popular show.

THE CHARACTERS

One particularly entertaining aspect of the show is the wide range of characters Messy Mondays uses for its skits.

Just a few of my favorites are Big Head Kid (played by Jordan Taylor), a hilarious, nutty, and rather pompous lad who usually tells you what not to do; YOLO (played by Josh Taylor), a long-haired skateboarder who lives according to his name; and Hipster Josh (also played by Josh Taylor), an annoying hipster who usually gets tackled by one of Jordan's characters.

OTHER BLIMEY COW SHOWS

As I mentioned before, Blimey Cow also has a show called Jordan's Messyges, where Jordan Taylor reads "messyges" (messages), points out spelling errors, and gives humorously sarcastic advice.

To see all of their playlists, just go to https://www.youtube.com/user/blimeycow/playlists.

Besides videos, Blimey Cow also has an online podcast, The Blimey Cow Audio Network.  On July 9th, 2013, the podcast was #1 on iTunes.

CONCLUSION

I hope I have gotten you interested in Messy Mondays or one of Blimey Cow's other shows.  The people behind Blimey Cow are geniuses who are making a beautiful impact on the world.  Whether Christian or non-Christian, or homeschooled or not, Messy Mondays is the show for you.

It will crack you up, make you happy, and, as Big Head Kid would say, "We might even learn a lesson along the way".
