Plugged-In Online

What do Iron Man 3, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, The Hobbit, and Star Trek into Darkness all have in common?

They’re all popular movies for teenagers, of course!

And all movies have ratings.  Yet despite the MPAA’s careful ratings, oftentimes, sitting in your local theatre watching your much anticipated film, you’ll think, “Oh!  I didn’t know that was supposed to be in there.”

Is there a way you can fully check out the content in the newest flick before you go to the cinema?

You sure can.  Just head to Plugged-In Online.

Plugged-In is an organization which has online reviews in a Christian perspective.

Plugged-In hosts reviews for virtually any movie you’re interested in.  It covers “Positive Elements”, “Spiritual Content”, “Sexual Content”, “Violent Content”, “Crude or Profane Language”, “Drug and Alcohol Content”, and “Other Negative Elements”.

Indeed, Plugged-In includes every single thing in the film which might be considered offensive.

Although all of the inappropriate content must be listed, Plugged-In always describes it subtly and abbreviates swear words.

One of my favorite things about Plugged-In is that it NEVER gives away the climaxes and “good parts”--if one must be listed because of content, “Spoiler Warning” is always written before it. The reviewer also lists the movie’s description, his personal regards of the film, and the overall conclusion.

Plugged-In has a search panel where you can find potential favorite movies.  You may select the rating (G, PG, PG-13, R, or NR) as well as the genre (Action/Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Horror, Kids, Musical, Mystery/Suspense, Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Sports, War, or Western).

Besides movies, Plugged-In also covers reviews for music, video games, videos, and television, as well as a link to book reviews.

While surfing through this incredible website, be sure to check out Plugged-In’s Family Room.  There, you can find blogs pages, advice for a family movie night, and parenting tips for your mom or dad.  The Family Room even has a page where it interviews well-known people such as Douglas Gresham and Bernie Kopell!

In conclusion, Plugged-In is truly a gift from God.  And if you just can’t get enough of this online miracle, check out Plugged-In on Facebook or Twitter.  You should also check out Plugged-In’s sister sites (http://community.focusonthefamily.com/b/boundless/default.aspx OR http://community.focusonthefamily.com), which are also Christian-based websites, each with a different theme.

Providing you use this fantastic site, your “plugged-in” time will never be spoiled by unpleasant content.

And, best of all, Plugged-In is simply a fun site to visit.  I myself get on nearly every day!
