Maddie's Mission Second Annual Block Party Save The Date
We are excited to invite you to join The Miraculous Miss Maddie in an evening filled with delicious food, great music, exciting raffle prizes, and great company. This evening will mark the commencement of Maddie's Mission, a public non-profit 501c3 organization committed to bringing awareness to rare diseases including Angelman syndrome. We will also raise money for Kansas City organizations supporting children with different needs including Britain Development, Children's Mercy, & Playabilities.
Please bring your lawn chairs, appetites and dancing shoes. Maddie will be saving a dance for you!
A little about Maddie's Mission Foundation, we started in honor of our daughter, Maddie, who lives with a rare disease called Angelman syndrome. Maddie's Mission Foundation, a public 501(c)(3), was created to support the holistic needs of children living with rare diseases in Kansas City. Our foundation provides charitable support to the organizations that have improved our daughter's quality of life, in hopes that other children will have the same access and opportunity as Maddie. These local organizations include Children's Mercy, Britain Development/Advent Health, and Playabilities.
Maddie's Mission Second Annual Block Party will be held on September 10, 2023. We will have a live band (Atlantic Express), Chill in the Village Ice Cream Truck, a grill with hot dogs/chips/soda/water for dinner, carnival activities (caricature, face painting, bubble man, etc), silent auction in which many of our local community partners in Prairie Village, Fairway, Brookside, Leawood and the Plaza donate gift cards, baskets, dining experiences and such to raise money at this event. As an expression of our gratitude, these organizations are listed on Maddie's Mission's website and will be featured in Mission Hills Living and The Kansas City Business Journal later this year. We raised over $160,000 in 2022 and $110,000 at our first block party in 2022. Our community partners were a significant part of our success.
