Go wild this summer with summer break camps at the KCZoo! Camp runs June 2 through August 15. Day camp curriculums are age-appropriate and are properly chaperoned at all times. Activities may include but are not limited to educational games, crafts, shows, rides, science experiments and educational movies.
Full-day camps are available for ages 5-17, Monday-Thursday, 8:30-3:30.
COST: $265 for four-day camp. Single-day camps also available. FOTZ members receive a 10% discount.

4-Day Camps include:
- Invertebrate Investigators: Explore the fascinating world of insects, spiders, and other invertebrates both on land and in the ocean. We will learn about these creatures' roles in nature and develop a deeper understanding of ecosystems.
- Curious Collaborators: Discover the many ways that animals interact with each other. We will explore symbiotic relationships, food chains, strange animal friendships and rivalries.
- Detective Protection: How do animals avoid being spotted? They've adapted fascinating ways to remain concealed! Learn about all forms of mimicry, camouflage, and disguise that animals use to avoid detection.
- Amazing Zoo Race: Grab your passports and let's take a trip around the world! On our journey, explorers will encounter animals from all over the world, learn about their amazing adaptations, and how they use them to navigate the world around them. Campers will use their problem-solving skills to complete challenges and race to the finish line!
- We Built a Zoo: Welcome to the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium! We're hiring exhibit designers, zookeepers, and marketing specialists! We need your help to build a brand-new zoo from the ground up. As we go into this project, we will meet with zoo staff and discuss what it takes to design, build, and run a zoo.
- Zoo Careers: The Zoo is more than just taking care of animals. Campers will be able to explore all the career avenues that allow the Zoo to run smoothly. From marketing to horticulture, to customer service and animal care. Each day will highlight a different department in the zoo, with fun learning opportunities.

- Ice Age: The summer is cooling down with frigid featured creatures. Learn about the Ice Age and the amazing abilities animals needed to withstand extreme temperatures.
- Dinosaurs: Zoo-rassic park explores "Dinosaurs Around the World" with a an in-depth look at the temporary exhibit and exploring these dinosaurs unique adaptations.
- Early Life: We'll dive into the Cambrian seas to look at some of the oldest animals on the planet and explore the Zoo to see some of their closest living relatives.
In each camp day, campers will engage in interactive lessons, activities, games, and crafts. Walking tours through the zoo will introduce them to animals from around the globe!
Campers may have the opportunity to get up close and personal with various animals and animal areas. Campers might be visited by our animal ambassadors, visit our stingrays, aquarium touch pools, and/or feed our goats. During the summer, behind-the-scenes opportunities may be available to learn about the day-to-day for our animal care staff.
