Smartphones and Tablets - the tools of the modern mom! If you're like me, you've likely discovered that apps fall into one of the following categories:
- Great tools you use all the time!
- Apps that "sounded like a good idea" but they a) don't work well, b) there is something better, c) you forget to use them because they aren't "that great"
- Fun Apps for you or the Kids
- Junk
After sorting my apps recently, I chose these 5 Favorites for my role as Mother.... check them out then share your faves!
- KC Going Places: Yes, I'm biased - I love KC Going Places Magazine, especially when we have a free weekend or out-of-town visitors to plan for and now it's available as an app (on Android - iPhone is COMING SOON)! Over 500 fun places to discover in KC, all at my fingertips! https://market.android.com/search?q=kc+going+places&so=1&c=apps
- Cozi Family Organizer: It took a long time before I found a digital planner that worked for my family and now that I'm using Cozi, I'm hooked! I love it because: I can sort appointments by family member; Sync with my phone/laptop/tablet AND give my husband access; Track recurring events but allow for notes on specific dates (for instance, if I have a weekly meeting but one time I need to bring refreshments, I can add notes only to the exception. I can also cancel the one meeting that lands on a holiday without canceling others.); I can create multiple lists and to-do lists (professional to-do lists, library due dates, ideas, family occasions) with due dates, so they are tracked at the top of each day without creating an appointment; I can create shopping lists and link to coupons; and it is very simple and clear - I never thought I'd bid adieu to my paper planner successfully, but Cozi has been perfect for managing our family, personal, and professional schedules all in one app! http://www.cozi.com
- Amazon Kindle: Now you can use a Kindle from any Android Tablet or Smartphone! In addition to the great free books available from the Apps Market, there are many more available through the library as well! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&feature=search_result
- Store Apps: I have installed Apps for many of my favorite stores allowing for product searches, notifications of sales, coupons, location searches, and other fun features like the Project Ideas on the Michael's Arts & Crafts App.
- Photoshop Express: Photoshop is my favorite photo editor, and now I can make basic edits (you won't have all Photoshop features, but the primary ones I use for family photos are on the app), from your phone or tablet. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.adobe.psmobile&feature=search_result
Okay, what are your favorite Apps?
