Just about 30 minutes north of Downtown Kansas City, sitting on the bluffs of the Mighty Mo, rests Parkville... a quaint town with a charming historic Main Street, wooded nature sanctuary and riverfront park.

Note: The Missouri River has been flooding all summer (2011) and Parkville businesses are under watch, sandbagging and taking preventative measures. For this reason, we do encourage you to call ahead before taking a trip to Parkville to verify business hours.

Highlights: Located in the Main Street Parkville Shopping District, Shabby Hattie’s offers a delightful tea menu, including a princess menu with pink lemonade for children. Little girls are offered tin tea sets to play with as they wait for their food. They also enjoy feather boas, necklaces and gloves to “dress up” for the occasion. The tea room’s décor of bright blues and pinks makes a cheery and ladylike atmosphere for its patrons. Meals range from $5-10 and feature sandwiches, salads, quiches, and decadent deserts... and of course, full service tea!

Enter at the City Market and enjoy amenities such as: picnic shelters, restrooms, boat ramp, playgrounds, grills, walking/jogging trail, softball and soccer fields, gazebo, volleyball and the historic Waddell A-Frame Bridge.

Highlights: The three restored G-16 open air trains operate on ½ mile of track. The trains include one of the original Kansas City Zoo trains, a Manhattan Zoo train, and a New York Zoo train. A highlight of the ride is a trip through the tunnel.
