Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

    Ready or not...it's here! Are you ready? Luckily, I think (fingers crossed) I've got everything ready for Christmas. Our celebrations begin Christmas Eve and run through New Year's Day. It's a whirlwind of family, fun, food and festivities! I have high hopes that this year's Christmas break goes a bit more smoothly than last year's. We began Christmas break last year with a bang, a trip to the emergency room. Then, during the two week break, we found ourselves with a nasty stomach bug. To top off the fun, we were caught in the center of a freakish January tornado on New Year's Eve day (in St. Louis). Did we listen when my Dad told us to leave Monkey Joes because we were right in the path of the tornado. Of course not! So what did that mean? It meant we were in bounce houses when the electricity went out (and guess what happens to bounce houses when the electricity goes out? You guessed it-they all collapse, with the kids inside). We rode out the storm, left to get lunch (we were a hungry crew by this point) only to find almost all streets closed due to down power lines. Certainly not a holiday we'll soon forget!
