Grocery Goods: Pumpkin Treats
September has arrived, and with it, the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) from Starbucks. I am a sucker for this yummy drink (and yes, I mark the date of its return each year on my calendar). But, in addition to the PSL, I love pumpkin treats of all kinds. As they are starting to reappear on grocery shelves, here are a few of my faves:
- Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses: While I haven’t seen these on the shelves yet this year, I am sure their return is imminent. While by themselves they were a little too sweet for me, melt one on a pretzel for just the perfect combo of salty and sweet.
- Pumpkin Spice coffee cream: Several brands are available, but my favorite is the Aldi’s brand. The perfect addition to my morning cup of Joe.
- Pumpkin Pancake Mix: Speaking of Aldi’s, pick up their pumpkin pancake mix. Yes, there are tons of from scratch recipes out there, but this one is super easy and super yummy. We like to either add whip cream to the top or bake in some mini chocolate chips.
- Pumpkin Spice Swirl Bread: Um, this one is new to me and it is fantastic! Made by Pepperidge Farms, it is so good toasted and topped with butter. Just the right amount of pumpkin and cinnamon. Seriously, either this is new or I have been missing out!
- Pumpkin Spice Flavored Coffee: The Gevalia coffee is a favorite of mine on a cool morning. Add some vanilla cream and it kicks it up a notch. Not available at stores (that I know of, if I am mistaken, let me know!), but can easily be ordered online.
What are your pumpkin faves that you find on local grocery store shelves during the fall?
