Hearing the Heartbeat

Today was my "first favorite" doctor's visit during pregnancy... we heard the heartbeat for the first time! Today was the day when things changed from "just having pregnancy sickness" all the time to starting to really meet the newest member of our family. Today is the day when it seems MORE real....

I remember clearly the day we first heard the heartbeat of our first baby girl. My husband and I were both so thrilled to hear this little life living inside me and thriving. Today, as the doctor said, "Here it is loud and clear." and commented on the frequent and constant movements of the baby, "I can tell this child belongs in your family.... another active one." she also commented on our excitement and joy to be welcoming this newest member to our family. The smile on Ron's face and enthusiasm is just as strong for our fourth as it was for our first, second, and third... another new baby... it's exciting.

Hearing the heartbeat makes it all worth it. Knowing we'll soon have another blessing in our family... we can't wait!
