Why do they call it "Morning Sickness"?

As I am experiencing 24/7 daily "morning sickness" for the third time... with my previous pregnancies it lasted until exactly 1 hour AFTER I gave birth (yes, you read that right. I have been told by MANY people that supposedly it ends for most/many moms after the first trimester.... no such luck here)... I am wondering, "Why do they call it morning sickness?" For me, it knows no hour and certainly no trimester (into second and it's going strong).

I've tried everything. Ginger, eating, not eating, lots of water, lying down, and every old wive's tale in the book. Finally, we found medication that helps, but it's not perfect. The result is that I can eat, but I feel queasy all the time. Remember when you were a kid and you went to a slumber party and stayed up all night having eaten a lot of junk food? Essentially, I feel like I'm experiencing the "Day After a Slumber Party" all the time.

I think I'm going to stop calling it Morning Sickness and call it what it truly is, "Pregnancy Sickness." Thankfully, I have two beautiful happy daughters, and a new blessing on the way to remind me that it's worth it.
