Birth Day

My youngest celebrated her 5th birthday this week. I always get a little sentimental around birthday time-celebrating as my children enter a new year, but also a little sad as they move closer to leaving the nest. Both my girls enjoy hearing stories about the day they were born and I'm happy to tell the stories over and over again. If I could, I would love to relive both of those days.

With my oldest, I had the bags packed in advance and my birth plan ready to go! We arrived to the hospital around 5:00 am and were admitted, received my epidural around 10:00 and Tori was born at 4:00 pm. We spent the majority of the day watching movies and waiting in anticipation to meet our new baby girl. It was, in my book, a perfect day. Three years and three months later we replicated the day (only this time it was at night), but it was, again, a very special time that my husband and I were able to spend together awaiting the arrival of our newest family member. Yes, there was some pain and discomfort, but it was all worth it and I'll forever treasure the memories of those two days; the days I met two of the most important people in my life.
