Spring Party Favors

If you haven’t noticed, I’m super excited for spring! And this weather makes spring fever that much better! I am ready to start planting, which is probably why I whipped up these favors for Gracie’s birthday party over the weekend, even though it was a swimmming party and had almost nothing to do with spring! But, timing is everything, right?

I found these paper pots at Target and I love them because it is so easy to start your seeds on a sunny kitchen window and then transfer them on Mother’s Day to a planter outside, or right into the ground. I know Mother’s Day is supposed to be safe for outdoor planting in KC, but I would imagine with this weather you might even be able to get away with something earlier?

Then I bought a bag of potting soil and divided it up into baggies – giving each kiddo just enough to fill their mini started pot. The seeds are from the Dollar Store, but you can find them anywhere right now. And I made little “bouquets” from lollipops, which just happens to be Gracie’s favorite treat, but you can add a little trowel or gardening gloves, depending on who the favor is for.

Then I added this little tag, which I am providing for you here as a printable PDF. It is quick and sort of gived the favor some personality. I think planting is great for kids, and hopefully you’ll have a chance to let your kids watch something grow this spring!
