Go Fly A Kite

Last weekend Ty was out of town so I was flying solo with the girls. Each got to spend a night with me in my bed (a big treat in our home) and on Saturday, instead of cleaning house (which it desperately needed), I decided to go the Flights of Fancy Kite Festival.

We got there right as it began, bought some lunch and found a spot to watch the kites (which were really impressive). Someone had brought bubbles (a great idea) and shared with us. We spent close to an hour enjoying lunch, chasing bubbles and watching the kites. There was an area for children that we walked through and then, as luck would have it, we ran into Kristina (our web editor) who invited us to fly kites with her family and their friend, Rob. My girls hadn't flown a kite before, mostly because I don't have a lot of success when it comes to trying to get the kites up in the air. Thanks to Kristina, the girls (and I) were able to get the kites up. I had forgotten how much fun it can be to fly a kite.

So instead of a clean house, I got to spend time with my girls relaxing and enjoying a beautiful spring day. I'll take those memories over a clean house any day.
