5 Faves for Affordable Family Fun in Kansas City
A few weeks ago I wrote about the "Most Fun you can have for FREE in Kansas City"... today I thought I'd share the "Most Fun you can have for CHEAP in Kansas City." For Spring Break week, parents are looking for affordable family fun in KC... these are a few of my favorites:
1) Movie Bargains in KC: Watch second run films for JUST $2 a ticket (2 and under FREE) at The Noland Fashion Cinema (13520 East 40 Hwy Independence, MO. 816.478.2223). This week "The Princess and the Frog", "Planet 51" and "The Blind Side" are just a few of their offerings. The theater is well-maintained with nice seats, a clean atmosphere, and friendly staff. Or, check out The Trailridge Cinema (7456 Nieman Rd Shawnee Mission, KS 913. 596.8435 ) where tickets are just $2.50 each. This week they're featuring "The Fantastic Mr. Fox." Or, head to Dickinson Theaters on Tuesdays where they serve FREE Popcorn if you Bring Your Own Bowl on Tuesdays www.DTMovies.com!
2) Roller Skating Bargains in KC: 50s Skate on Sundays from 7-9pm at B & D South Skate Center (13903 E. 4) Kids Eat FREE or Cheap in KC: We love the Kansas City Kids Eat Free Guide! My girls especially love eating at Double Dino's Pizza in Shawnee (as an adult I love their chili), IHOP in Grandview (the smiley face pancakes are a favorite after Awana treat), Chick-Fil-A (with a great play place) and Chartroose Caboose (my husband and I LOVE this one too!).
5) Moms Day Mondays at Paradise Park: Visit the Children's Edutainment Center at Paradise Park (1021 NE Colbern Road Lee's Summit, MO 816.246.5224) where moms get FREE admission with the purchase of one child's ticket every Monday! Paradise Park is a family fun center with hands-on educational activities for kids, a foam factory, bumper cars, go-karts, and miniature golf.
