Fall Tree Art Project

This weekend my neice and nephew came over and I really wanted to do a fun, fall craft with the kids. I found this (http://pinterest.com/pin/150518812517488450/) on Pinterest and thought it was super cute and looked easy! You just use fall-colored paints (red, yellow, brown, orange and green), and you can use Q-tips for paint brushes to “dab” fall leaves onto a tree. I purchased washable kids paints from Target (and warned my sister-in-law that we were painting! Even with washable paints you wouldn’t want to wear your Sunday’s best!)

We cut out our tree branches from brown paper grocery sacks, and glued them onto our paper with a glue stick. Our paints went into an empy egg carton, making it fun to select from several different colors, or even mix new ones! Also, just close up your egg carton when you’re finished, and stash it in the fridge so you can paint again soon.

I didn’t outline the tree area (as shown on Pinterest) as I just let the girls go wild with their leaf placement but I can see our finished product turned out a little bit different. I think you could also use fingerpaints and use fingerprints for leaves, but this was a little less messy!

Happy fall y’all! Enjoy!
