For 20 years children 3-13 years old have selected holiday gifts for family, friends and teachers all within a supervised setting at C.W. Parker Carousel Museum, 320 S. Esplanade, Leavenworth, KS. This event will be held on Sat. Dec. 6th from 9AM to 5PM and Sun. Dec 7th from 10AM to 4PM. Gifts are priced at $5 or $7 each and complimentary gift wrapping keeps purchases hidden from curious eyes. Children love this event as it allows them to choose something they think their loved ones will want without the presence of a parent and the gift comes from the heart. For the first time shoppers, it is important to know what to expect so our “Head Elf” explains the process. Prior to entering the shopping area, a gift list is completed by the parent with names, ages (of children) and dollar amount for each gift on the child’s list. Our volunteer elves guide each shopper into the shopping area where gifts are arranged according to category and price. When the shopping has been completed and the gifts wrapped each child receives a free ride on the 1913 carousel, a bag of Magic Reindeer food, access to the Kid’s Craft Room and free holiday movies. Parents, while waiting for your little shoppers enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate and browse through the unique gifts, crafts and baked goodies available for purchase.
