Take a photo with our woodsy Santa Claus! The holiday season is a time of joy, love, and togetherness. “Tales of Father Christmas” embraces the true spirit of this magical season, fostering a sense of community, goodwill, and a love of nature. See wildlife and share smiles, laughter, and heartfelt moments with your loved ones as you listen to stories together. Bring a toy for our Cram the Cruiser Toy Drive! Everyone attending must register and pay, including adults.
Advance registration required. Program fee is nonrefundable.
Children: $9 / $10 nonresidents, per person, $11 on-site day of event, if space available.
Adults: $5 / $6 nonresidents, per person, $7 on-site day of event, if space available.

The Nutcracker

A cherished Kansas City holiday tradition, The Nutcracker, returns to fill the stage with magic and enchantment. Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s timeless tale, this Victorian-era classic follows Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, Dr. Drosselmeier, and the Sugar Plum Fairy on a captivating journey filled with fantasy and delight. With dazzling costumes, breathtaking scenery, and mesmerizing choreography, this performance will transport you to a world of imagination. Come celebrate the joy of the season and rediscover the magic of childhood!

Story Time with Santa

Join us with your little one for this carefully crafted magical hour with gentle storytelling, a chance for littles to warm up to the big guy, and all the oohs and ahhs you can take!

When: Wednesday • December 17th @ 9a – 10a

Admission includes:
– Small group of little kids with Santa
– Magical story time with all eyes on the big guy
– A small treat to enjoy while listening
– Time for little ones to share their wishes with Santa
– Individual photo with Santa

*This is a gentle event designed for littles and their favorite adult.

Teddy Bear Clinic

Bring your favorite stuffed friends and let the volunteers from Kansas City Young Matrons nurse them back to health. We will fix rips, tears, and holes and give them a good fluff. Once they are back to tip-top shape, they will receive a clean bill of health. Every stuffed animal deserves a little TLC at the Zoo’s Teddy Bear Clinic. Final patients accepted at 1:30pm.
