Something To Eat™ KC is a hands-on experience that gives participants the opportunity to pack nutritious meals for neighbors facing food insecurity — a growing challenge across our community. In the Kansas City area, 1 in 8 people struggle to access enough food, including 1 in 6 children. Through your efforts, we can help change those numbers — one meal at a time.
Something To Eat KC is more than just a packing event; it’s a chance to serve together, build community, and see the impact of compassion in action. All ages are welcome, making it a perfect activity for families, youth groups, schools, businesses and church teams.
We are proud to partner with Harvesters – The Community Food Network, a leading hunger relief organization serving 27 counties across northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. Through this partnership, meals packed at the event will be distributed directly to local food pantries and community organizations within Harvesters’ trusted network, ensuring the food reaches those who need it most. This collaboration not only increases the distribution power of the meals we pack, but also significantly amplifies the visibility and community reach of the event.
Registration: $23 donation per/person. Children under 7 years old are free.
*$23 will provide 65 shelf-stable meals. Your registration is a non-refundable donation to Something To Eat™. Your donation is tax-deductible.
Choose your session time — Each 90 minute time slot includes 30 minutes of orientation and an hour of packing meals.
Session Times: 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m.
Breakout Sessions and Experiences: We are planning some unique experiences that you can participate in beyond just your packing session! Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is offering free admission for the month of February in honor of Black History Month. A visit to the NLBM is an opportunity to learn about the historic league whose roots began right here in KC and had a lasting impact on both baseball and American history.

Families with incoming kindergarten students are invited to a special Kindergarten Preview at Midland Adventist Academy. From 12:20–12:30 PM, parents and children are welcome to attend a short meet-and-greet with the kindergarten teacher and visit the classroom together. Children will then remain for a fun preview experience from 12:30–1:20 PM, giving them a chance to explore, play, and get a glimpse of kindergarten learning. This relaxed, welcoming event helps future students feel comfortable and excited about starting school.

Come join us at the Olathe Community Center Pool to enjoy a screening of Elemental all from the comfort of our swimming pool! Anyone watching from the water must register, those chaperoning children 5 or under are permitted in the water with child.
