Bunny Egg-stravaganza

Bring the family for the annual Bunny Egg-stravaganza! This “egg-citing” holiday event features egg hunts for all ages, clowns, and a visit from two very special bunnies! Bring your camera and a pail to hold all your eggs, candy, and prizes.
Egg Hunt Times:
10:15AM 10 & Older Scavenger hunt
10:20AM 8 months- 1.5 y/o (with parent)
10:30AM 1.5- 3 y/o (no parents)
10:40AM 1.5-3 y/o (with parents)
11:00AM 4-5 y/o
11:20AM 6-7 y/o
11:40AM 8-9 y/o

The Story of US: America at 250

The Story of US: America at 250 explores the ideals, conflicts and turning points that
shaped the nation. Featuring historic documents on loan from the National
Archives—many seldom seen outside Washington, D.C.—the exhibition traces how
America’s founding principles have been tested, challenged and expanded over 250
years. Paired with artifacts and images from the Truman Library’s collections, these
landmark records reveal democracy in action, illuminated by the voice and values of
President Harry S. Truman. This exhibition will be open to the public April 20 to May 24.

Touch a Truck at the KCZoo

Bring the kids to see and explore a variety of vehicles and equipment that keep our community safe and growing, including some that are used often at the KCZoo! They can also meet the professionals who build, protect, and serve Kansas City to learn more about their jobs and how they use this equipment to do them.

Touch a Truck is FREE with Zoo admission or membership, and will be held rain or shine.

*For the well-being of the animals in our care and all guests, noise levels will be kept to a minimum, including sirens, horns, and other loud sounds.

Build-A-Boat

Anchors aweigh!
We’re setting sail on Lake Lorraine with our first Build a Boat event!
In this program you will use a variety of building materials to create your own boat, but that’s not all! We’ll be putting these watercrafts to the test! Whoever’s boat can hold the most weight wins the bragging rights!
We will have duct tape, cardboard, popsicle sticks, and other miscellaneous building supplies, but if you think you have the ultimate material for a heavy duty ship, bring it along for the utmost advantage!
This event is $5 per boat, so come with a team to build an epic sea-faring vessel or challenge yourself to work alone on your own boat.
Enjoy an afternoon lakeside building your boats with us! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Global Neighbors & Flavors Fest

Feast on cuisines, performances and experiences from around the world at the Lenexa Public Market. Bring the kids to celebrate the rich cultures that make our community diverse and vibrant. Free.

Beginner’s Theatre Workshops

Ready to step into the spotlight? We have a summer camp where kids can shine! Our Beginner’s Theatre Workshops are 7 fun-filled weeks where kids ages 5-15 can learn the basics of acting and set design, and build confidence in public speaking.
Led by an instructor with the Children’s Performing Theatre of Independence, these classes are designed to let kids explore their inner showmanship! Plus, it wraps up with a LIVE performance on June 26th.

Cost is $30 per child

Time for Different Age Groups:
5-8 year-olds: 6 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
9-15 year-olds: 7 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
