Nothing beats homemade ice cream on a hot summer’s day. This quick and easy recipe doesn’t need an ice cream maker—only a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 1 t. sugar
- 1/4 t. vanilla
- 1/2 c. milk or half and half
- 6 T. rock salt
- 1 pint-size plastic food zipped storage bag
- 1 gallon-size plastic food zipped storage bag
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Fill the gallon-sized bag half full of ice and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
- Place the milk, vanilla and sugar into the pint-size bag and seal it.
- Place the small bag inside the large bag and reseal it.
- Shake until the mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 minutes.
- Wipe the salty water off the top of the small bag, then carefully open it.
- Enjoy!
