Top Ten Ways to Have a Great Day at Worlds of Fun
We’ve always made a point to visit Worlds of Fun once a summer. But, as the girls get older, they enjoy spending more and more time out there. So this year we purchased season passes. It was a great investment. We’ve already been to the park four times and the girls are itching to go back (and, are anxious to get to Oceans of Fun; come on Mother Nature, bring on the summer temps!). To help you make the most of a day at Worlds of Fun, here are the Sarvers Top Ten Tips:
- If you are going to go to the parks more than once, invest in the refillable cups. A good deal AND a great souvenir all in one.
- With your ticket gaining entrance to both Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, consider making a day out of it. To help cut down on costs, bring along a picnic lunch in a cooler and take a break at either lunch or dinner. You’ll find many people dining in the parking lot or in the shaded grassy area near the entrance.
- If you do want to eat in the park, be sure to check out several new dining options offered this year. My favorite is the Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. So yummy!
- Bring a backpack and don’t forget the sunscreen. Even on a cloudy day you’ll end up with a nasty burn if you spend all day at the parks.
- For our family, the litmus test on whether a ride is too scary is whether or not I will ride it. Let me say, the Spinning Dragons is a lot of fun! I couldn’t comment on any other coaster, as you will not find me on them!
- At least one person will get soaked on Fury of the Nile and there is absolutely no way to predict which seat will get wet. I can testify that if you are on the ride with me, I will be the one to end up soaked.
- Consider purchasing the souvenir photo that the Worlds of Fun staff takes as you enter the park. A reasonable, personalized remembrance of your day.
- The dinos are only here this year, so make sure you get to see them before they are extinct! The dinosaur exhibit is an additional $5 per person.
- Parents can ride many of the rides in Planet Snoopy, and they are fun! Read WOF's Tips for Kids for more info when visiting with children.
- Wear tennis shoes. You will walk a ton and your feet with thank you.
