Fall Fun at Ceramic Cafe

Sometimes you just need to get those creative juices flowing! This is true for kids and adults. And, that is just one reason I love to visit paint-your-own-pottery shops. Ceramic Cafe is one of Kansas City's best paint-your-own-pottery-shops and my daughter and I recently enjoyed a mother/daughter date night there.

Ceramic Cafe offers a great selection of characters and objects to choose from: dishes, animals, characters (Hello Kitty, Angry Birds), pots, candle holders, piggy banks, holiday items, and decor. Their staff was very helpful and friendly.

My daughter selected a princess to paint and it reminded her of Belle from Beauty, and the Beast. The team member on duty pulled up images on her computer so we could verify hair, eye, and dress color.

We had a great time painting and creating, and after our night of ceramics. My daughter is already begging to go back!

The Process

Check the schedule before you go. Ceramic Cafe welcomes walk-ins. Plan to spend 1 -3 hours to paint a completed project (varies based on difficulty).
Select paints and project and get to work. The shop offers a variety of stencils, stamps, brushes, and paints to use. Team members are very helpful with ideas and suggestions.
Once your project is complete, hand it over to their staff and it will be fired in the kiln. If you are planning an item for a gift or event, keep in mind that it takes up to a week to be ready.
You will be called in a week when your project is ready for pick up. Enjoy!

Glass Fusing

This is on my personal bucket list to try! Assembling colorful pieces of glass with just a few simple techniques can produce a beautiful work of art that will amaze your friends and family.
