Chalk the Walk: Halloween Edition
Roeland Park Community Center 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park, Kansas 66205
Show your artistry and have fun during new Chalk the Walk – Halloween Edition program
Ghosts, goblins, Jack-O-Lanterns, and pretty much anything that makes you think of Halloween are fair subject matter for a new and recently-announced sidewalk chalk event being planned during the last week of October by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
This free event is called Chalk the Walk – Halloween Edition, and will take place Oct. 26 through 31 on the sidewalks around the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. Participants are invited to bring their chalk and decorate one sidewalk square surrounding the community center’s front lawn. The hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday, and 8 am top 1 pm on Saturday. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to wear their costumes while completing their artwork. When finished, artists should take a picture of their family-friendly artwork and post it to the Roeland Park Community Center’s Facebook page @RoelandParkCommunityCenter.
Participants should be sure to stop inside the RPCC to receive a Halloween treat bag for everyone who participates. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the following categories: spookiest; most colorful; and best overall. Winners will be announced via Facebook at 1 pm on Oct. 31.
