Summer fun at Wornall/Majors
Drop-in History Fridays are an opportunity for children to explore social studies topics in an authentic historic setting. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we are now offering “mini camps” for Summer 2020. These smaller drop-in sessions will allow us to observe enhanced sanitation, as well as offer a low-cost educational option for parents. We will abide by any gathering size limits in place at the time of each session.
June 26 – Adventure with the Pony Express!
Location: Alexander Majors House (8201 State Line Rd., KCMO 64114)
“Wanted: Young, skinny, wiry fellows not over eighteen. Must be expert riders, willing to risk death daily.” Pony Express riders experienced excitement, danger, and adventure – and many riders were teenagers. Experience the excitement of the Pony Express during the brief 18-months that it was in existence.
