Summer fun at Wornall/Majors
Drop-in History Fridays are an opportunity for children to explore social studies topics in an authentic historic setting. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we are now offering “mini camps” for Summer 2020. These smaller drop-in sessions will allow us to observe enhanced sanitation, as well as offer a low-cost educational option for parents. We will abide by any gathering size limits in place at the time of each session.
July 10 – Life on the Frontier
Location: Alexander Majors House (8201 State Line Rd., KCMO 64114)
How did families like the Majors family interact with their homes and the objects within them? How did they accomplish daily chores without the aid of indoor plumbing and electricity? What kinds of relationships did they have and what did they do for fun? Put down the cell phone and step back into time and experience life on the Missouri/Kansas border in the nineteenth century.
