Low Sensory Morning Nelson-Atkins
Let's explore the Ancient art galleries, looking at incredible stories on Greek vases and ancient stone reliefs. Experiment with clay and create your own scratchboard artwork in the Classroom 4 Art Studio. Tell your own heroic story with drawings on a three dimensional, working paper vase to take home at the FunSpot in Bloch Lobby!
We invite participants into the museum an hour before we open to the public in order to provide a quiet and low-stimulating environment where you can enjoy hands-on artmaking activities and art in the galleries. Visual resources, hand fidgets, a low sensory break room and other accommodations will be provided. This is an activity for families and care partners with children on the autism spectrum or people who have sensory sensitivities.
*Please use Bloch Lobby & Bloch Plaza Entrances
Parking in the museum garage is $12. Museum members park FREE.
