Time Travelers - In the Garden
Step back in time to the 1920's at Shawnee Town 1929 Museum. Today we're in the garden planting seeds or harvesting vegetables which you can take home, weeding, sorting seeds, and guessing what seed grows into what plant. Wash and bundle veggies and hand till garden rows with our cultivator. Color and fly balsa wood airplanes in honor of Charles Lindbergh who made the world's first solo transatlantic flight in his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis in 1927.
Today's feature activities: 11 am - 1 pm Leatherworking with Cornie Neufeld, retired nurse and Kansas farmer. 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Story hour with Michelle Ranney, Youth Services Librarian, Johnson County Library.
We have one week left of our Time Travelers summer programs. Come see us next week when we'll be in the town with all sorts of fun activities!
