Youth Fishing in the Park

Break out your fishing poles and tackle boxes and join us for youth fishing in the park! This program is designed to teach kids ages 4-14 how to fish safely and have fun! Conservation staff will be on site to teach your child all of the fishing skills they need! Fishing equipment available upon request.

Registration Fee: $5/child
Registration: Monday August 24th through Friday September 4th. Online registration is available at www.gladstone.mo.activity.reg.com, complete the attached form and return to the address listed at the bottom of the registration form, by calling (816) 423-4200 or in person at the Gladstone Community Center front desk.
Equipment Needed: Youth are invited to bring their own fishing pole and tackle boxes. Worms will be provided. We have extra poles and tackle available in a limited quantity. These items must be requested at time of registration.
Other Information: Youth will hear from the Clay County Rangers and learn about animals living in the area and also learn about some fishing safety. Fishing will follow the presentation. Youth ages 4-14 will not need a fishing license. However, if parents assist youth by casting or holding the fishing pole while it’s in the water, they will need a license. If parents and staff assist with putting worms on the hook and taking fish off the hook they do not need a license.
