Located in Freedom Park behind City Hall at 1205 Jones. The Grandview Historical Society was formed May 20, 1981, to help preserve the history of the area including the Kansas City Southern Railroad Depot, built in 1912. The KC Southern Railroad had discontinued passenger service and was going to tear down the Depot. After many fundraising projects and donations, the Depot was moved from the tracks west of town to its current location in 1984.
