While we've heard this phrase 100 times, I have a suggestion on how to make your house begin feeling like a home. Take time to actually clean it! I've decided that unless I actually have a designate schedule of what to clean on which day, it is highly unlikely that I will get anything finished at all. Creating a schedule that tells when you will clean the floor, change the sheets, and wash those nasty toilets will ensure a house that feels more like a home at the end of the day.
Getting your kids involved might be the secret....or maybe it't not the best idea depending on the age. However, I'm sure that at nearly every age, there is some way that we can invovle our children to help us keep the house clean, and it instills in them a stewardship of the house that's been given to us by God. Teaching children to take care of what God has given us is a valuable lesson to begin instilling in them at a very young age. Involving even your youngest in the clean-up teaches responsibility as well as a cooperative attitude in taking care of the home they live in.
Do you have a great cleaning schedule that you have found works well for you? What are your secrets to making sure the tasks get done each day?
