Shouldn’t every day be Mother’s Day? I mean really, when we get that extra long snuggle, don’t you feel like the luckiest Mom in the world? I know I do! The truth of the matter is Mother’s Day is a holiday we have to share with the other moms in our family. Remember to take it easy and don’t let it be a source of stress for any of the moms who gather together to be honored.
- Mother’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year in the restaurant business. Consider avoiding the post church brunch/lunch crowds by making a reservation for dinner.
- If entertaining at home, make sure Mom doesn’t do all the hard work! This is a great week to hire a cleaning service or order parts of the meal from a local bakery or store. You can’t go wrong with Holiday Ham!
- Find a new park and have a carry-out picnic planned and packed by Dad and the kids. Enjoy the chance to let the kids run around and have your undivided attention.
- Buy a flowering bush or tree and plant it together as a family. You’ll enjoy a blooming gift that will last much longer than any bouquet!
- Go to the mall and have a multi-generation picture of the family taken by one of the pros. Several photo shop chains can now hand you your finished portraits before you leave the store. You’ll be in and out in less than an hour.
- Let your kids make dinner, read you bedtime stories and tuck you in a little early. A great night’s sleep may be the best gift of all!
