For Valentine’s Day last year, we began a new tradition, the Sarver Secret Valentine. Each of us drew a name one week before Valentine’s Day and each day during the week leading up to Feb. 14, we did something for our secret Valentine. It could be a note, a piece of candy or some other small token to let our secret Valentine know we were thinking of them. I gave each girl $5 and took them to the dollar store so that they could pick out treats for their secret Valentine throughout the week and for the big reveal on Valentine’s Day.
Now I know what you are thinking…there are only 4 of you in the family and it wouldn’t be all that difficult to figure out who was leaving you treats throughout the week. Well, you would be right, but we all played along and I’m telling you what, the girls had a blast! They, in turn, wanted to do a secret leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day, a secret bunny for Easter, and so on. But I said no to each request, that we were going to leave it as a special tradition for Valentine’s Day. And so, as we get close to Valentine’s Day, the girls are enjoying the 2nd Annual Sarver Secret Valentine.
