This week was spent at girl scout camp. Here are some of the lessons I learned throughout the week:
- If, for planning purposes, you’d like to know when the hottest days of the summer in 2011 will be, just check with me to see when we are going to camp.
- It takes a couple of showers to remove the scent created by sunscreen and Off.
- A frozen wash cloth placed on your neck around noon feels mighty good.
- When using the latrine, be sure to bring along a bandana (to cover your nose) and air freshener. Put on the bandana, spray, run in and do your business and run out as fast as you can.
- No, that’s not a big spider on the door, that’s a tick.
- It will be several weeks before I stop humming the lyrics to “The Burrito” song…Hey Burrito! Hey, Hey, Hey Burrito!
- The girls in my troop don’t like worms. They are, however, masters at catching seaweed and turtles.
- Panties on a flag pole are funny to a variety of ages for a myriad of reasons.
- A bucket of water, some sponges and a really hot day equal a good hour of fun.
- Decorating flip flops with balloons is cute, but a lot harder than you would think.
