We've yet to finish the blueberries we recently picked, yet I can almost taste next year's blueberries. You see, next year when we visit The Berry Patch, I'll know what to expect.
We'll arrive at the patch earlier. I believe it opens at 7 a.m. We probably won't arrive that early, but we will try to beat the heat.
I'll be sure to bring either a stroller or a wagon. The terrain is obviously a bit rough, so I'll definitely leave the umbrella stroller at home. Though, even that would have been a welcome addition to our recent trip. I didn't have anything but my arms on our recent visit. That's definitely not a good idea when you are with three children ages 4 and under.
Finally, I'll pack some snacks. I assumed my children would be content to snack on the blueberries as we picked them. They enjoyed them, but I think I would have bought myself a little more picking time if I had packed some snacks and cold water.
Other than that, I'll do exactly what I did this year. If yet again my children begin to get hot and cranky before we've even gathered a pound of blueberries, I'll call it a day. After all, the point is to make a memory and enjoy time together, not to see how many blueberries we can cram in our freezer.
