Whew, I’m tired! My husband has been out of town this week for work. He doesn’t travel often for work, at most once or twice a year. And for me, that is a good thing. It’s been a long week being the only parent at home with the girls. They have been well-behaved, it is just been tiring and taxing on me. I’ve missed having some “down time” away from the girls. I’ve missed having grown-up conversation after the girls have gone to bed. I’ve missed having someone to give a look to at the dinner table when one of the girls says something silly.
I know that there are many single parent homes out there. I have the utmost respect for those of you that are single parents. It is a very difficult job and I applaud those of you who do it on a daily basis.
One thing that didn’t help the week go by any faster was the fact that we are cooped up indoors. My rule of thumb is that if it is 50 degrees or more, we go out for at least a walk. Since the weather hasn’t cooperated I can tell that the girls are squirrelly. In the past week and a half, we’ve visited 3 indoor play paces. If you find yourself in the same boat as us, take a look here to find a great list of places for your kids to run off some of that extra energy.
