Review: Peachwave Self Serve Frozen Yogurt

by

It's a season of celebrations for many families - wrapping up school year accomplishments. For our family, one recent celebration was our daughter's piano recital performance followed by a special treat visit to Peachwave for some froyo (frozen yogurt). Frozen Yogurt shops have been popping up and disappearing on the KC scene for a few years now, but Peachwave is still going strong after a few years!

With bright modern decor, sleek seating at shiny white tables, and humongous bowls begging to be filled to the brim with froyo and toppings (be aware Moms! encourage portion control - )... Peachwave is a favorite summer treat our girls absolutely LOVE!

Offering about twenty flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt with a rotating seasonal selection (you will always find a vanilla, chocolate, cake, and variety of fruit options - followed by surprise faves like strawberry cheesecake or key lime pie), and a smorgasbord of toppings - this is Mecca for children thrilled to create their very own dream dessert. Each customer creates their very own concoction - so you can suit it perfectly to your personal taste (fruity, tart, sweet, chocolate, mix!).

Peachwave does offer samples - so you may try before you buy (highly recommended). Then, select a bowl (the small is still VERY large), guide your children in selecting flavors (they may choose more than one), and toppings - including a variety of candies (i.e. mini M & Ms, gummy worms, marshmallows), fresh fruit, cookies, brownie bites, strawberry boba, sprinkles, and MORE, and of course your classic sauces - chocolate, butterscotch, etc.  And according to Peachwave, their dessert is healthy - or at least healthier than most sweet treats, "Yogurt is a rich source of calcium, as most dairy products are. Calcium aids in the development of strong teeth and gums, and can make your bones less brittle, which reduces the risk of developing osteoporosis. Eating yogurt on a regular basis can help you to absorb the nutrients in other foods as well."
